Adam Isaac Maki, born on October 3, 1978 passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Adam graduated from Superior Central High School in 1997. He liked to watch the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings play and enjoyed playing basketball. He liked to fish and spend quiet times by the water. Adam was very fond of animals and they seemed to be drawn to him too. He loved to cook. Adam thrived on creating new recipes and worked in restaurants most of his life. Adam had a warm heart that loved the people in his life with the purity of a child. He was happiest when he was spending time with his friends and family.
Adam is survived by his mother - Cheryl Maki (Bob Storch) of Limestone; stepfather - Donald Maki (Betty Powell) of Eben; sisters - Amy (Gar) Artley and Sara Nicholls (Mark Armstrong) both of Sault Ste. Marie; brother - John (Angela) Maki of Eben; special half-sister - Tanya (James) Hamm of Fond du Lac, WI maternal grandmother - Lillian Anttila of Limestone; niece - Lacey McLeod of Sault Ste. Marie; nephews - Hunter McLeod of Sault Ste. Marie and Dakota Maki of Eben; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and some very special kind hearted friends. Adam was preceded in death by his grandfather Harold Anttila.
Services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham. Visiting time with family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Pastor Paul Kelto will conduct Adam's memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
