Agnes Ann Algoe, age 63, of the Whispering Pines Willow Creek Assisted Living Home in Escanaba, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 8, 2022 when out with her friends. She was born on June 16, 1959 in Flint, Michigan to the late George and Marjorie (MacLeod) Algoe. As the only daughter in the family, Aggie was always special. Her simple life touched those who knew her. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and the caretakers who watched over her throughout her life. Aggie always had a book in her hand, and she enjoyed singing. Her favorite songs were “You Are My Sunshine” and “BINGO.” Aggie enjoyed watching television shows and was particularly entertained by The Cosby Show and Emergency. She loved when Rampart would come to the rescue. Aggie’s favorite color was yellow, and she loved when Mary would take her to McDonalds for lunch. As a child, Aggie had the memory of crossing the Mackinac Bridge and Mary made sure she had the opportunity to visit the Bridge when she could.
Agnes is survived by brothers Robert, Tracey, and Charles; her guardian who was also her friend Mary Sprague; and many other caretakers. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Matthew and Chris.
Aggie will take one more trip across the Mackinac Bridge and will be buried next to her mother at the Glenwood Cemetery in Flint, Michigan.
