Thomas Albert Gagnon, Sr. "Al" , age 91, of Munising, died Sunday evening, February 10, 2013 at Munising Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 23, 1921 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to the late Thomas and Mary (Wright) Gagnon. Al graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School in 1940. He married Doris Mae Myrick in 1941. Al served in the United States Coast Guard for four years. He worked for many years as an accountant for the Ohio Pipeline. Al was once a superb bowler, a fabulous billiard player, as well as a bridge master. Later in life he enjoyed reading western novels and watching his beloved Detroit Redwings and the Detroit Tigers.
He is survived by his son - Tom (Carol) Gagnon, of Kokomo, Indiana; daughters - Marry Gagnon of Atlanta, Georgia and Tracy Gagnon of Boulder, Colorado; and sisters - Betty Komula and Violet Bushman; grandchildren - Renda Donovan, Ronda Bell, Wendy Blier, and Holly Stillo; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his wife Doris; parents - Thomas and Mary; son - Steven M. Gagnon, sister - Marion Paquette; and brother - Francis Gagnon.
