Trenary
Alice Jessie Fetterhoff, age 88, of E4074 June Road, Trenary, died on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born on June 7, 1921 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late Albert and Cora (Catkins) Fetterhoff, Sr. Alice moved to Traunik in 1946 and then to Trenary in 1953. She lived there until 2002 when she went to Fairview Manor in Gladstone and then to Tendercare in Munising. Alice had worked over fifteen years at the Trenary Bakery. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and the Trenary Senior Citizens Club. Alice enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles, traveling, laughing, and she loved to dance - especially Polkas.
She is survived by her children - Ruth Brisson of Gladstone, Margaret "Maggie" (Joe) Lasofsky of Hazel Park, Carol Latvala of Trenary, Nancy Bush of Lewiston, Kent (Cora) Bush of Trenary, Dale Bush of Trenary, Dean Bush of Vanderbilt, Darryl (Gail) Bush of Sault Ste. Marie, and Doyle Bush of Harvey; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings - Albert Fetterhoff of Jackson, Vera Fetterhoff of Gladstone, Bonnie Smith of Alpena, Genevieve Fetterhoff of Trenary, Junior Allen Fetterhoff of Louisiana, and Ilene Cora Cayer of Escanaba; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by six children - Charles, Alex, Norma, Albert Jack, Dennis, and Rosemarie; siblings - Velda Koning, Beatrice Neff, Raymond Fetterhoff, Arthur Fetterhoff, and Royce Fetterhoff; and 4 sons-in-law - Francis "Sam" Latvala, Robert Brisson, Joe Oberstar, and Ken Reeves.
Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary and Alice will be escorted by her sons and grandsons.
