Alice E. (Richard) Hallstrom, 88, resident of Dollar Bay passed away peacefully Sunday, July 3, 2022, at her home following a short illness.

Alice was born August 10, 1933 in Royal Oak, MI, the youngest daughter of Samuel and Anna (Niska) Juvonen. She graduated from Madison High School and went on to further her education at the Great Lakes College in Detroit, MI.

On August 23, 1958, she was united in marriage to Richard Hallstrom. The couple resided in Detroit MI, Utica, NY, Chatham, MI, and Kalispell, MT, before moving to make their home in Dollar Bay in 2003.

Throughout her life she enjoyed taking classes on subjects she was interested in and learning how to sketch and paint with water colors. An avid reader, she loved working as an Assistant Librarian. She passed that love of books and reading down to her children and grandchildren.

Alice was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock.

Preceding her in death were: her parents, 4 sisters, 2 brothers and her grandson Cade Daniel Hallstrom.

Her children: Sondra (Kory) Habets of Conrad, MT

Dan (Leslie) Hallstrom of Kalispel, MT

Sam (Tracy) Hallstrom of Hancock

16 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

Funeral services for Alice will be held 11 am Thursday, July 7, 2022, at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock with Ron Jouppe to officiate.  Friends may call on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 9:00 am until time of services at the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Hancock.

Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham, MI on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11 am.
