Alice “A.J.” Winters, age 79, of Sundell, Michigan, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in Munising. She was born in Marquette to the late Malcolm and Edith (Toumi) Winters. Alice graduated from Eben High School. She married Richard Lintula and together they raised their three children. Alice owned and operated the New Moon Bar in Eben for twenty years. Alice loved gardening, she loved it so much she started A & C Bloomers Greenhouse and worked alongside her kids Cindy and Jim. Alice was a compassionate caregiver. She cared for her mom in her later years as she battled with dementia and served as a home health aid for Commission on Aging. Alice enjoyed crocheting, knitting, following politics, mowing her lawn, and playing with her dogs. She was an amazing grandmother who would do anything to help her grandkids.
Alice is survived by her sons – Tim Lintula of Chatham and Jim Lintula of Sundell; son-in-law – Kris Hanson; grandchildren – Eric (Udy) Lintula, Billy and Jeffery Papineau, and Erika and Ian Lintula; great-grandchildren – Eli, Adaora, Kosi, Amanda, Kristina, Dylan, Aleena, and Elijah. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cindy Hanson, and brother Ronald Winters.
Services for Alice will be graveside services at will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. A gathering will take place at the New Moon following the graveside services.
