Eben
Alvin I. Koski, age 67, of Eben, died early Wednesday evening, January 14, 2015 at U.P. Health Systems - Marquette Hospital following an unexpected illness. He was born on March 31, 1947 in Rumely to the late Into and Hilma (Maki) Koski. Alvin grew up in Eben and then Ohio. He traveled to Florida and met and married Rose Sparks and together they raised their five children. Alvin worked as a "jack of all trades" and self-taught himself carpentry, plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. He recently moved back to Eben in September of 2014 to be closer to his family. Throughout all of his moves, Jimmy Swaggart Ministries was his home church and he worked as a missionary. Alvin was proud that all of his children are serving the Lord. He enjoyed working and giving of himself to anyone who needed anything.
Alvin in survived by his five children - Tia (Graem) Sieble of Texas, Tianna Koski of Eben, Alvin (Kari) Koski, Jr. of Nebraska, Bethany Koski of Arizona, and John (Florence) Koski of Kentucky; fifteen grandchildren; sisters - Bonnie (Harry) Moore and Sandra Rasmussen all of Eben; aunts - Aune Juntunen, Arlene Keskimaki, Alma Luoma, and Aili Peach; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters - Violet Willet, Joyce Willet, Beverly Caswell, and Patricia Rigsby, and brother-in-law Steve Rasmussen.
Private family services will be held at a later date and interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
