Amorette Claire Miron

Amorette “Ami” Claire Miron, age 89, of Munising, died late Tuesday evening, July 9, 2024 at the Trillium Hospice Home in Marquette. Ami was born in Munising to Dale and Mabel (Berube) Burley on May 24, 1935. She graduated from Sacred Heart School and then Wm. G. Mather High School in 1953. Amorette worked for the Alger County Court system after high school. She married her high school sweetheart, Douglas L. Miron on August 28, 1954. Ami traveled to California to meet Doug’s naval ship when it returned stateside in California. They lived in Long Beach, California and then rode the Super Chief Train home together from California to Escanaba. Together they raised the five children and Amorette also babysat other kids in their home on Oak Street. She worked as an insurance agent for Mazzali Insurance Agency for thirty-seven years. Amorette was a fantastic cook and baker. She specialized in cooking wild game, French meat pies, and cardamom bread. Ami was a faithful and devoted member of Sacred Heart Church. She loved her church. Amorette spent countless hours sharing her time and talents of music for decades. She played the organ for Mass, funerals, weddings, and any church celebration. Amorette also extended that gift by playing for Mass at St. Therese in AuTrain. She was smart, strong, and stubborn and she loved her children and grandchildren.

 Ami is survived by her husband of almost seventy years – Doug Miron of Munising; their children – Adorée Miron (George Duquesnel) of Delton, MI, Mari Jo (Mark) Sadak of Munising, Stephanie (Rod) Killips of Christmas, Louis (Chrissy) Miron of Prattville, AL, and Doug (Jackie) Miron of Sparta, MI; grandchildren – Mitchell (Samantha) Duquesnel, Peter (Sawyer Rufullo) Duquesnel, Raquel (Ted) Soyad, Marcus (Jenny) Sadak, Maggie Thoune, Adoree (Steven) Berg, Jordan (Mirissa Eiseman) Miron, Michael (Alexis) Miron, Matthew Miron, Stephan (Danielle) Miron, Nicholas Miron, Amy (Peter) Lord, and Joshua Miron; great grandchildren – Vinnie, Ava, Tucker, Lavender, Sullivan, Cloie, Karson, Marlee, Adlee, and Haislee. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Mabel Burley, sister Gayle Miller, brothers Dale and Gary Burley, and great-grandson Damian Miron.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. Visiting time with family and friends will be at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Munising. 

Graveside services will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
