Amy Lou Lindquist, age 45, of Munising, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020. She left us unexpectedly after fighting a battle with a heart condition that was still undiagnosed. She just couldn't wait any longer.  Amy was born on July 7, 1974 to Roger Thornton and Lois Martin in Onaway, Michigan.  She grew up in Petoskey and attended Petoskey High School where she was a cheerleader and graduated in 1992.  In 1997 Amy moved to Florida for work.  She was set up with a new roommate through a mutual friend and the roommate was Joe Lindquist.  Their friendship grew and following a trip to Key West, they were in love.  Amy moved to Munising with Joe to help run his family’s business Glass Bottom Shipwreck Tours.  They were married September 13, 2003 and together they raised their daughter Hannah.  Amy worked at the shipwreck tours with passion.  She wore many hats at the tours: gift shop manager, scheduling, all and all CEO.  Amy loved the outdoors: camping, fishing, boating with family and friends, snowshoeing around their home with her beloved German Shepherds Ace, Skipper, and Jedi.  In 2010 following the earthquake that devastated Haiti, Amy organized a Red-Carpet Charity Ball that raised nearly $2000 for Red Cross relief.  Amy found great enjoyment with her Bible study group and attending the Munising Wesleyan Church.  She looked forward to traveling back to Petoskey to spend holidays with her family.  Amy found joy in all she did with her daughter Hannah, listening to her play the piano, and watching her teach herself how to play the guitar this brought a smile to her face every time.

Amy is survived by her husband Joe Lindquist of Munising; daughter Hannah; mother Lois Dell of Petoskey; sisters – Tammy (Lauren) Hofbauer of Petoskey and Randy (Henry) Baumgartner of Boyne Falls; in-laws – Pete (Chris Konyn) Lindquist and Phyllis (Bill) Johnson all of Munising; sisters-in-law – Mary Ellen (Greg) Pond and Kate Faust; niece and nephews – Derek, Hailey, Lance, Cody, Ryan, and Peter; and dogs Ace and Skipper.  She was preceded in death by her father Roger Thornton, niece Ashley and four legged friends Jedi, Sammy, and Tiger.
