Munising
Ann Barbeau, age 94, of Munising and formerly of Escanaba and Fairport, died early Thursday morning, October 23, 2014 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born on January 8, 1920 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Hattie (Wilson) Tallman. Ann married Richard Barbeau and together they raised their family in Fairport. She was a faithful member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba and of Sacred Heart Church in Munising. Ann was a bit of a wanderlust who was a wonderful grandmother, she enjoyed playing Bingo, travelling, and visiting with her children.
She is survived by her son - Dean Barbeau of Menominee; daughters - Marlene (Maynard) Robbins of Munising, Constance (Duane) French of Menominee, Linda (Donald) Cromell of Gaylord, and Kandis (James) Scully of Escanaba; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister - Kass Peterson; sisters-in-law - Rose and Jackie Tallman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Richard in 1971; daughter - Jody Barbeau; son - Richard Allen Barbeau; sister - Ethelyn (Francis) Thill; brothers - Jim (Lita), Bud, Bob, Ronald (Nola), Burt (Evelyn), Roger (Thelma) Tallman; and brother-in-law - Howard Peterson.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 27, 2014 by Fr. Chris Gardiner at Sacred Heart Church in Munising at 11:00 a.m. A time of visiting and fellowship with family and friends will take place in LaMothe Hall following Ann's Mass. Interment will be at the New Garden Corner Cemetery in Garden.
