Archie Vern Bazinet, age 59, of Trenary, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.  He was born on November 5, 1961, in Oxnard, California, the son of Melvin and Joyce (Cass) LaCosse.  Archie grew up across the U.P. until his family set roots in Trenary, a place he rarely wanted to leave.  He was a graduate of Trenary High School in 1979.  Archie worked at the Holmquist Feed Mill before becoming a fulltime logger.  He had been employed for the last twenty years as a logger for Premier Forest Products.  Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding on his antique Huskie snowmobile.  Archie’s passion was music.  He was taught to play the guitar by his dad, and it became more than a hobby of his.  He played his first show at The Silver Dollar Bar in Trenary as a teenager and continued playing for years with multiple bands: Sundown, Fire Water, Ruf-Cut, and 4 Below 0.    Archie and Melvin shared their talents playing and singing at Snowberry Heights where they would put on concerts for the residents a few times a year.  He also played at many community events and around the campfire if there was guitar nearby.

Archie is survived by the love of his life – Michele Burnett of Trenary; daughters – Diane (Robert) Beasley of Laingsburg, MI, Jennifer Bazinet, and Brooke Bazinet both of Perry, MI; stepchildren – Nicole Smith, Leo Burnett IV, and Jason (Kate) Burnett; grandchildren – Trent, Nevaeh, Collin, Evan, Noah, Brayden, and Jack; siblings Melvin (Jackie) LaCosse, Jr., and Ann (Rob) Halvorsen; and his dog and best-friend – Galli. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Joyce LaCosse.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at The Silver Dollar Bar in Trenary beginning at 2:00 p.m.
