Trenary
Arthur "Calvin" Goodman, age 83, of E3216 Gilliland Road, Trenary, died unexpectedly in the emergency room of Marquette General Hospital on Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010. He was born in Limestone Township to Robert and Cora (Nance) Goodman. Calvin attended school in Trenary and then served as a truck driver in the U.S. Army from 1946 - 1947. He earned the Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal - Germany. Calvin worked at GM in Flint and lived in Burton. He retired from GM and moved to Trenary. Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, making maple syrup, ice fishing, and just being outdoors.
He is survived by children - David Curtis Goodman of Metropolis, IL, Joan Morgan of Gwinn, and Alissa Christian Goodman of Metropolis, IL; three grandchildren - Reuban, Autumn, and Racheal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert James Goodman, and five sisters - Ethel, Betty, Nancy, Joanne, and Jessie.
Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Alger County Veterans Council and American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 3:00 p.m.
