Audrey Furlott-Passinault, age 90, of Munising, died Friday, April 27, 2018 at her daughter’s home under the loving care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice. She was born on August 11, 1927 in Munising, MI to the late Robert and Flora (nee Earl) Gerndt. Audrey graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1945. She worked at Munising Wooden Ware for many years. Audrey married Mathew “Sonny” Furlott and together they had three children. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church in Munising and traveled with the church on mission trips to help build homes for those in need. Audrey was a person who cared deeply for all people. She enjoyed bowling, baking, reading and playing cards, especially Bridge. Audrey married Richard Passinault and they lived in Munising and Marquette. They would go on camping trips and trips to New York. Audrey would also go to garage sales where she would pick up old wood furniture and refurbish it. While in Marquette, Audrey would spend time at the Senior Center visiting with friends, playing cards, and she helped lead exercise classes. Her most recent passion was creating beautiful greeting cards that she would share with family and friends. Audrey was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Job’s Daughters and Order of the Eastern Stars.
She is survived by her children – Mike (Kathy) Furlott of Port Washington, WI, Jan (Kip) Cota of Lost Lake, and Dave (Lori) Furlott of Marquette; grandchildren – Matt (Michelle) Furlott, Jody (John) Jared, Cory (Kristy) Cota, and Rich (Kristie) Cota; great-grandchildren –Madison, Logan, Hattie, Evan, and Liam; many dear stepchildren who she loved; and numerous nieces and nephews. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents – Robert and Flora; husband – Sonny Furlott; husband – Richard Passinault; and brother Robert (Rose) Gerndt.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Munising from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. At noon there will be an Eastern Star Service followed by a Memorial Service conducted by Pastor Sandra Kolder and a fellowship gathering after. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
