Munising
Barbara J. Paquette, age 74, of Center Street, Munising, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. She was born on August 14, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Clarence and Emma (Sherman) Moore. Barb married Leo John Paquette and together they raised their seven children. She had worked as an aide at the Glenn Elementary School in Toledo. In her younger years, Barb enjoyed canoeing, fishing, and spending time with Leo. He preceded her in death on February 24, 1997. She enjoyed the company of her dear friends Barb and Kass and the trio of Barb, Kass, and "Pockets" enjoyed playing at the casino and shopping. Barb also liked traveling and overnight bus trips, and she was also active with the American Legion Auxiliary. Barb was so proud of all of her grandchildren and loved visiting with them and talking to them on the phone and also loved her dog, Sassy. She was very proud and comforted by her renewal in faith and baptism at Sacred Heart Church.
Barb is survived by seven children - JoAnn (Sanford) Black of Toledo, OH, Connie Robins of Phoenix, AZ, Debbie (Nabil) Shannak of Perrysburg, OH, Kathy (Robert) Tucholski of Toledo, OH, John (Tammy) Cooper of Holland, OH, Dawn (John) Trzeciak of Munising, and Vicki (Ray) Schierschmidt of Munising; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother - Donald (Nancy) Moore of Oregon, OH; extended family - Barb (Ted) Fulcher and family of Munising; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leo and brother Robert Moore.
Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. There will be a time for sharing of stories and memories at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Father Chris Gardiner will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church Friday, April 9, 2010 at 12:10 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
