Barbara L. Watson, age 66, of Munising, died early Monday morning, January 9, 2017 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising following a lengthy illness. She was born on April 17, 1950 in Munising to the late Ferret and Ila (Rexstrew) Watson. Barb was a member of the Silver Echoes Drum and Bugle Corps. She graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1968. Although her daily activities were restricted due to her severe diabetes, Barb enjoyed the outdoors and picking blueberries. Barb also loved to knit, crochet, and talk.
She is survived by her siblings – Nancy Watson of Munising, Anna (John) Madison of Munising, Cecil (Connie) Watson of Florida, Mary (Ferdinand) Lundberg of North Carolina, Patricia Watson of Munising, and Ruth Watson of Nevada; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Munising with Rev. Sandra Kolder officiating. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
