Bertha Irene Kordish, age 83, of 318 E. Munising Avenue, died on Tuesday evening, March 18, 2008 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming, Michigan. She was born on October 27, 1924 in Escanaba to Renie and Sylvia (Tussing) Hebert, Sr. and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1942. Bertha was an active member of the Munising Eastern Star, was a Worthy Matron, and served on The Grand Family. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women. Bertha enjoyed crafts, sewing, beadwork, and she loved shopping for shoes and clothes.
She is survived by her son - Terry (Paulette) Kordish of Ishpeming; granddaughters - Janet (Mike) Demogola of Munising and Carol (Greg) Exelby of Munising; four great-grandchildren - Gabrielle, Brittney, Alissa, and Nick; sister - Penny Wojciechowski of Nevada; and a brother - Richard Hebert of Mt. Clemons. Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, husband Vince Kordish, brothers Renie "Buzz" Hebert, Jr. and Albert Hebert, sisters Yvonne Smith and Sara Jane Ries, and a great-grandson Nathan Exelby.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Munising.
