Eben Junction Beryl Ella Mae Jalonen, age 77, of Eben Junction, died Sunday, December 8, 2013, at her home under the loving care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice. She was born on October 29, 1936 in Munising to the late Thomas and Ida (Franks) Moore. Beryl grew up in Wetmore until age eleven when her family moved to their farm in Limestone. She graduated valedictorian of the Eben High School Class of 1954. On February 11, 1956, Beryl married Edwin J. Jalonen and then raised their three children. In 1970, she went to work at J&L News. Beryl then worked at the Red Owl and retired twenty-five years later from Glen's. She taught sewing for 4H and she loved entertaining for holiday and family functions. Beryl was a faithful and active member of Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Eben. She taught Sunday school over fifty-five years and she also taught the church's youth group. Beryl's world was centered around her faith and family. Faith was paramount in her life. It was eloquently said that she lived her life in word and action so as to challenge each of us daily in our Christian walk with Jesus. Beryl is survived by her husband of almost fifty-eight years - Edwin of Eben; their children - Stephen (Cara) Jalonen of Shingleton, Mark (Helen) Jalonen of Fountain Inn, SC, and Lynn (Rob) Lundquist of Munising; her beloved grandsons - Alvin (Loni) Billig, Joseph Jalonen , Benjamin (Emily) Lundquist, and Adam Lundquist; great-grandchildren - Kirshna Billig, Kathreen Billig, Tommy Jalonen, and Danny Jalonen; brothers - Mike Moore of Limestone, Pat (Cindy) Moore of Prentice, WI, and Dave (Linda) Moore of Limestone; sister-in-law - Carol Moore of Saginaw, MI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ida, brother Thomas Moore, infant sister Jacqueline Moore, and sister-in-law - Barbara Moore. Visitation will be at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. On Wednesday, December 11, visitation will be from10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Free Lutheran Church in Eben. Beryl's funeral will be conducted by Pastor Tom Schierkolk beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the church. ***Beryl's committal service will be on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.***
