Trenary

 Betty June Davis, age 94, of Trenary, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at her home under the loving care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice. Betty was born on April 6, 1930 in Marquette, Michigan to the late Frank and Lucille Richmond. She grew up in Trenary and graduated from Trenary High School in 1948. Betty married her high school sweetheart William E. Davis on April 11, 1953 and together they raised their four children. Betty went to cosmetology school in Chicago and Marquette and opened her own salon in Trenary, Betty’s Beauty Nook. She operated out of her salon and then eventually her home, styling hair into her 80’s. Betty was very active and played women’s softball until she was in her 70’s and worked out with her friends at TOPS and Curves. Betty also loved to follow her kids and grandkids to all of their sporting events, and was never afraid to let everyone know what she was thinking, earning herself a technical foul and an escort out of the gym. Betty was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Trenary where she served as the treasurer for many years and was a member of the Lioness Club. She enjoyed painting and watching Bob Ross for inspiration.

 Betty is survived by her daughters – Melanie Tyner of Gwinn and Alison Martin of Trenary; grandchildren – Kayla, Jackie (Steven), Tobi, Dawn, Clint (Sabrina), Chase (Cassie), and Cord; great-grandchildren – Logan, Jackson, Cain, Cordelia, Adelena, Britton (Cristal), Karlie (Trevor), Jaelynn, Destinee, Autumn (AJ), Lucille, Stormy, Elaina, Ainsley, Hayden, Isabella, Syrus, and Zayden; great-great granddaughters – Oaklynn, Denver, Cayden and Willow. She was preceded in death by her parents – Frank and Lucille; husband – Bill Davis; son – Jack Davis; and daughter – Carolyn Ouellette.

 Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church in Trenary on Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Pastor Sandra Kolder will conduct Betty’s memorial service at the church at 1:00 p.m. A fellowship gathering will take place immediatly following the service.  Interment will be at a later date at Mathias Township Cemetery.
