Betty Jean Hoy, age 77, of the Bay View Apartments, 1002 West Munising Avenue, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, March 18, 2007. She was born on July 24, 1929 in Osier, Michigan, to the late Adam and Viola Franklin. Betty attended the Rock School. On February 7, 1948 she married Glenn B. Hoy. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, where she was very active in the congregation. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flowers, and watching the chickadees.
Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years - Glenn of Munising; son - Tom (Cindy) Hoy of Shingleton; daughter - Linda Hoy of Munising; grandchildren - Lisa Goudey of Gwinn, Charity Hoy of Munising, Thomas Hoy Jr. of Chesterfield, VA, and Amanda Hoy of Silverdale, WA; great-grandchildren - Thomas (Nikole) Tanner, Joshua Tanner, Kayla Tanner, Donald Tanner Jr., Alexis Goudey all of Gwinn, Tony Hoy, Nathan Bruce, and Trent Bruce of Florida; great-great-grandson - Ryan Fischer of Gwinn; and her beloved dog - Fluffy.
A Memorial Service for Betty will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Connors Road in Munising at 2:00 p.m.
