Betty Caroline Michael, age 72, of Marquette and formerly of Trenary, passed away and Jesus took her hand and carried her to heaven on Saturday, October 4, 2014. She was born on April 26, 1942 in Alliance, Ohio to Fredrick and Jane (Puckett) Grimm. In her younger years Betty enjoyed watching cowboy shows, riding horses and roller-skating. While raising her three children she worked at an assortment of jobs including working as a waitress at number of restaurants, while being a Brownie Leader and Den Mother for her children. In 1978, Betty and her family moved to Trenary, from Ohio. They lived there for many years before moving to Marquette, where she was the night manager at Pine Ridge Apartments. Betty loved making crafts, reading, growing house plants, spending time with her grandchildren. She was one who always loved to give presents, she was a giver not a taker.
She is survived by her children - Michele (Archie Bazinet) Burnett of Trenary, Ronald Michael of Barberton, OH, and Pam (Bryan) Savola of Trenary; grandchildren - Leo (Loni) Burnett, Nicole Smith, Jason (Kate) Burnett, Amanda and Seth Michael, Joseph, Erika, Meghan, and Jacob Webber; great-grandchildren - Collin, Evan, Noah, Brayden, Jack, and one on the way; brother - John (Debbie) Binius; sisters-in-law- Diane, Robin, and Jean Grimm; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends; Tim Boyd, Lori Ostanek-Maki, Phil Kirkwood, Megan Niemi, Jerry Webber, and caregiver Tess. Betty was preceded in death by her father - Fred Grimm; mother - Jane (Frank) Neitzer; stepfather - John Binius; brothers - Russell, Terry, Donald, and Ronald Grimm; and sister Sherry Grimm.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Wilma Savola will officiate a memorial service begining at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary.
