Beverly Lou Polmatier

May 5, 1936 — September 23, 2015

Beverly Lou Polmatier, age 79, of Indiantown Road, Munising, died following a ten month illness at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 5:35 p.m. She was born in Munising on May 5, 1936 to Arthur and Sylvia (Johns) Cota. Bev grew up in Munising and attended Wm. G. Mather High School. She married Richard Spaulding and together they raised their children, Janice and James. Bev was a homemaker and worked at the Superior Health Haven as an aide. In 1975, she married William H. Polmatier and together they enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing Scrabble, camping, three wheeling, brook trout fishing, and mushroom picking. Bev was a patient woman. She kept her mind sharp by working jigsaw and Sudoku puzzles. Bev loved mowing the grass and taking care of Hattie Sue.

She is survived by her grandson - Richie (Kristie) Cota of Munising; step-grandson - Scott (Patty) Smith; great-grandchildren - Hattie, Landon, and Lucas; sisters - Karen (Wally) Schultz of Munising and Ruth "Bootsie" (Leon) Hebert of Fort Atkins, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bev was preceded in death by her daughter Janice Spaulding, son Jim Spaulding, husband William Polmatier, husband Richard Spaulding, sisters Shirley Engman and Sylvia Ruperd, and brothers Eugene, Bob, and Cliff Cota.

There will be a potluck dinner on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at the Moose Lodge in Munising from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. where friends and family will share stories of happy times and memories of Bev.  Interment services will be conducted by Rev. Sandra Kolder on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
