Billy McGee, age 76, of Shingleton, died early Saturday morning, July 21, 2012 at Marquette General Hospital. He was born on May 17, 1936 in Eufaula, Alabama to John and Martha (Hisaw) McGee. Billy was raised in Alabama and moved to Lower Michigan and worked as a dairy farmer. He married Darlene Alice Fike on December 2, 1963 and she preceded him in death on February 10, 1990. Billy was a member of the Reading coon hunter's club. He is survived by children - William McGee of Shingleton, Scott (Ivonne) McGee of Pittsford, MI, Christine (Jeff) Campbell of Torrington, WY, John McGee of Quincy, MI, Cristal McGee of Shingleton; adopted daughters - Elizabeth, Johanna, and Barbara; five grandchildren - Galen, Charee, Alicia, Isaiah, and Skyler; great-grandson - Aedrick; sisters - Belle Hamlin of Coldwater and Hazel Coley of Alabama; brother - Al (Betty) McGee of Shingleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howad D. McGee and sisters Etta Strickland, Ethel "Sis" Jarrell, and Jewel Buyes. No public services will be held.
