Bonita Kathlene Frohner, 83, of Saline, died peacefully Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the Evangelical Home Saline while under the care of Residential Hospice.
She was born December 31, 1940 in Munising, a daughter of the late Wilho and Ansa (Ranta) Leppanen. Bonnie was a 1958 graduate of Eben High School and lived in the area for many years.
In 1969, she married Fred Frohner of Detroit. They moved to Sterling Heights where they lived for many years. They retired to the Munising area in 2002 and later moved to Saline in 2013.
Bonnie worked for many years as a dental office manager in the Sterling Heights area. She was a member of the Red Hats and Knotty Knitters, participated in bowling leagues through the years, and loved to play cards with her family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by husband Fred Frohner of Saline; son Fred DeMarse of Alameda, CA; daughter, Teresa (Derric) Ternig of Sayner, WI; son Todd (Kelly) Frohner, grandson Brandon (Sydni) Frohner, granddaughter, Jordyn Frohner all of Saline; and sister Carole Sipila of Gladstone.
The family prefers no flowers or donations, and they would like to express their immense gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff of Residence Hospice and Evangelical Home Saline. The wonderful, compassionate care they provided for Bonita and the support they have given to her family is greatly appreciated.
Graveside services will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service at the cemetery, there will be a celebration of Bonnie’s life at the New Moon in Eben from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m.
