Charles “Chuck” Klyzek, age 85, of Munising, died following a brief illness on Friday, November 24, 2023 at Munising Memorial Hospital. He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan on November 5, 1938 to John and Genevieve Klyzek. After graduating high school, he completed an apprenticeship at General Motors. As a tool and die engineer, he travelled around the U.S. and other countries working for many different companies including Boeing and Oregon Cutting Systems. After his retirement, he continued to travel around the country always enjoying the outdoors. It was common for him to call his son and let him know he was moving to another city or state, but he finally settled in Munising. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and bird hunting with his dogs. His son, Lucas, says that no one loved dogs more than his dad. He was a long-time supporter of Pheasants Forever and the Ruffed Grouse Society which was a testament to his love of these birds and their habitats. Always working on a project, Chuck liked to stay busy and was never one to sit around. Like everyone in the Klyzek family, he enjoyed cheering for the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Chuck is survived by his son Lucas, his daughter in-law Laura, and two step-granddaughters – Julia and Audrey; son Jonathan Klyzek, brother John Klyzek, sister in-law Teri Klyzek, and brother David Klyzek.
The family will inform if a gathering is scheduled at a later date and his final resting place will be at one of his favorite spots Montana.
