Munising
Charles "Chuck" Sanville, age 63, of Old Indian Town Rd. died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at his home in Munising. He was the son of the late Mose and Lillian (Benson) Sanville. Chuck was born December 15, 1943 in Escanaba, and attended school in Naubinway. He went to work for four years in the Cleveland Cliff Saw Mill, and then spent five years working for Ed Graves Logging. In the early 1970's Chuck went into his own logging business, Sanville Forest Products, starting to produce lumber in the saw mill in 1991. He married Joan (nee Hult) Belmore on October 14, 1994. Chuck had a passion for sailing, and had sailed three Great Lakes and in the Gulf of Mexico. He was proud of the times when he was a lone sailor and sailed Lake Michigan and Superior without a crew. Chuck spent several winters in Quartzside, AZ where he loved gold prospecting. When he was in the U.P. he enjoyed astronomy and star gazing, and using his metal detector to search the parks and historical sites around the area. Chuck was also a "Mr. Fix-It". He could always find a way to put something back together, but would say, "I can fix anything but a broken heart and the crack of dawn."
Chuck is survived by his wife of 13 years - Joan; former wife Marion and their children - Lorraine (Kevin) Parker of Ishpeming, Charles Sanville, Paul Sanville both of Marquette; grandson Alan Swenor; stepchildren Daniel Belmore of Aurora, CO, Susanna (Larry) Kuchinski of Niagara, WI, Anita (Paul) Skehen, Tricia (Barna) Szaza both of Kansas City, MO, and Ralph (Kristine) Belmore of Marquette; step grandchildren - Jessica, Robby, Hannah, Danielle, Ralph Jr., Christopher, Joseph, Pamela, Raymond, Andrew, and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents Mose and Lillian.
Pleas join Chuck's family and friends on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the Bowerman Funeral Home for a celebration of his life at 3:00 p.m.
