Clifford Floyd Goings

Clifford Floyd (Windy) Goings was born on November 21, 1911 to Doctor Craig and Mary Evelyn (Green) Goings. He passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2008. Windy worked in many CCI logging camps until he started working at the Kimberly Clark Mill in Munising. He began employment with the Munising Paper Company on December 8, 1943 as a laborer in the wood room transferring to the finishing room in 1947. In 1951, he posted into the job as saw filer and knife grinder. Windy retired from Kimberly Clark on January 1, 1974 with over thirty years of service.
Windy enjoyed working, teaching, and transporting people to the Munising Wesleyan Church, where he was a charter member.
He was an attentive and loving uncle to: Ron and Louise (Massey) Kunick, John Kunick, Karla Kunick, Kirk and Kathy (Kunick) Harger, Stephen and Justin Harger, Josiah and Heather (Harger) Coates; James and Vicki Massey, Brent Massey, Matt and Jodi (Massey) Haight; Ken and Dottie (Goings) Snyder; Craig, Lindsay, Jennifer, and Kari Snyder; Ken, Jr. and Danetta Snyder, Parker , Courtland and Tabbitha; Brian and Teri Sndyer, Josiah and Kierstin; Scott and Kristie (Snyder) Malott, Bode and Braxton; Mary Alice Goings, Elaine Goings; Paul and Kitty Goings, Allison (Goings) and Steve Wirth, Paul II and Teresa Goings and Chase; Steve and Starla Goins, Steffanie and Nikolas; Fred (Ed) and Julie Goings, Jaris, Erin, Brandon and Ryan; Sandra Stencil, Linda (Stencil) and Charlie Hutchinson, Chuck, Amanda and Jacob, Brenda, Olivia, Maya, Deter, and Elyah. Preceding Windy in death were his parents, sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Bernard Massey, nephew Art Massey, brother Fred Goings, Sr., and nieces Jo Ann Brantley and Rebecca Kunick.
Funeral services will be held at the Munising Wesleyan Church on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. Viewing will be for one hour preceding the services at the church. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
