Cynthia "Cindy" Ruby (Higby) Bruce

             Cynthia Ruby (Higby) Bruce, age 71, of Munising, died on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at UP Health System – Marquette.  She was born on November 24, 1952 and was raised by her mother, June Higby, and grandmother, Rachel Higby.  Cindy went to school in Munising and waitressed at Weiland’s before moving to Delta County.  She lived in Escanaba for many years while she raised her sons, and she worked as a waitress and at Super One.  Cindy returned to Munising in 2000 and worked as a caregiver at the Shannon House and she also worked at the casino.  She enjoyed watching television and movies, and ever since she was young, she had talent for drawing and crafting.

            Cindy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law – Randy and Carlene Higby of Escanaba; husband – Emil Bruce, Jr. of Munising; numerous cousins; and a grand puppy.  She was preceded in death by her mother and grandmother, and her son Ronald Higby.

           Services will be held at a later date and interment will take place at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
