Damien Louis Miron

Traunik / Munising
Damien Louis Miron, the four month old baby boy of Alexis Pierce and Michael Miron died in the loving arms of his parents on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the U of M Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born on August 22, 2009 in Marquette, MI. Shortly after Damien was born he took his first plane ride in a Learjet to the University Hospital. While at the hospital he was under close medical care, but his parents were able to help care for him building their loving bond. Damien grew and was able to interact with Mike and Alexis smiling and enjoying his mobile and music, but as much as he loved his parents he still hated getting his diaper changed and having his feet touched. Damien was a center post of outpouring support for him and his family from within our community and across the country. He was able to open the eyes of so many and changed people's hearts.
Damien is survived by his loving parents - Alexis and Michael; grandparents - Tracy Pierce of Traunik, and Chris and Louis Miron of Munising; great grandparents Dianne and Gerald Pierce of Traunik and Doug and Amorette Miron of Munising; great-great grandparents - Betty and Frank Walkowe of Missouri; uncles - Jordan (Mirissa), Matthew, Stephan, Nicholas, and Joshua; aunt - Amy Jean; cousin - Cloie Jean; and numerous other extended family. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents - Jeanne and Ronald Strand.
Damien's visitation will be on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Chris Gardiner at Sacred Heart Church in Munising at 12:30 p.m. following the visitation.
