Darlene Alice (LeRoy) Lintula

Darlene (LeRoy) Lintula, age 83, of Eben Junction, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, September 25, 2019 at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette, Michigan.

Darlene was born to Grace (Shaw) and August LeRoy on March 11, 1936 and grew up in Skandia, Michigan.  She graduated from Graveraet High School in Marquette.    She married Arne Lintula on October 16, 1954. They had 43+ years together and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, flower gardening, camping, and card parties.   Darlene took great pride in her home and was eager to welcome all who entered it.  Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.  She was always willing to play games and listen to their stories, and they knew she had their favorite snacks in the cupboard.  No family member entered the house without checking to see what sweet treat she had waiting for them by the bread box.  She eagerly looked forward to her weekly get-togethers with her special card players.  Darlene was a member of Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham.

Surviving are her three sons - Mike (Dulcie) Lintula of Eben Junction, Randy Lintula of Skandia and Kevin (Teri) Lintula of Skandia; grandchildren -  Chad (Becky) Lintula, Jason (Tonia) Lintula , Kyle (Tori Ivey) Lintula, Emilee (Nick) Falck, Hailey and Luke Lintula; great-grandchildren – Dylan Johnson and Ryan Edwards; great-great grandchild – Rory; sister - Linda (Pete) Villas; brother and sisters-in-law – Leslie “Ted”  (Gloria) Lintula and Bertha Alto; numerous nieces and many close special friends.  Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, son Steve Lintula on October 24, 1979, husband Arne Lintula on March 21, 1998, brother Myles LeRoy, sisters Helen (Ted) Libick and Lelia Calvert, and numerous brothers and sisters in law.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham, Michigan.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.  Pastor Paul Kelto will conduct Darlene’s funeral service at 12:00 noon.  Interment will take place at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
