Rumely
Dawn Amelia Salo, age 44, of the Nummela Road, Rumely, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, June 23, 2007. She was born on September 12, 1962 in Furth, Germany to Walfred and Elaine (Kytosaari) Salo. Dawn grew up in Rumely and attended school in Eben. She had previously worked as an aide for the elderly in Tuscon, West Virginia, Marquette, and Munising. Most recently, Dawn had cooked and bartended at the Chatham Pub and The Brownstone. She was very talented with sewing, crafts, drawing, knitting, and wood burning. Dawn enjoyed camping, being outdoors, gardening, and canning. She had a firecracker personality with the best sense of humor. There was always laughter when Dawn was around.
She is survived by her fiancée - Henry Cohoon of Rumely; her mother - Elaine Glavich of Gwinn; brother - Thomas (Sabine) Salo of Radcliff, KY; sisters - Vickie (Bob) Spitz of Elkton, FL and Julie (Mike) Burch of Gwinn; two nieces - Megan and Christina; two nephews - Corwin and Randy; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dawn was preceded in death by her father Walfred Salo, grandparents Victor and Amelia (Metsala) Salo and William and Ella (Kobie) Kytosaari , and her step-father Joe Glavich.
Private family services will be held.
