Munising
Dennis "Denny" C. Adair, age 67, of Munising, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at his home under the loving care of his children, girlfriend Réne, family members, and North Woods Home Hospice. He was born on July 31, 1948 in Munising to the late Donald and Hilma (Laytonen) Adair. Denny graduated from William G. Mather High School in Munising in 1967. On July 20, 1968, he married Regina Ann Paananen and together they raised their two children. Denny began learning the art of masonry in high school, and carried on doing jobs for many years. He began his employment with Kimberly-Clark Corp. as a summer hire in 1968 and then in 1969 he was employed full-time as a Utility Helper. Over his thirty-five years at the mill Denny moved into several senior positions in Truck, Roll Wrap, Coater and Quality. He retired from Kimberly-Clark on August 1, 2004 as a Specialties Operator. Denny enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding and watching the birds, photography, playing cribbage at the senior center, and cross country skiing. Many of these activities gave him the opportunity to be with his close friends: Corn, Rolly, Stoney, Tom Hall, Rick Runset, and Jack Rumohr. Denny was an avid Detroit sports fan, he loved cheering for the Tigers, Pistons and Lions. He was also a bit of a music buff, being able to give you lyrics for all kinds of music, from Elvis to Guns N' Roses and even Pink.
Denny is survived by his children - Roger Adair of Wetmore and Tracy (AJ Kerwin) Adair of Marinette, WI; grandchildren - Samantha (John Charlton) Kolbus, Taylor Adair, and Breanna Muske; girlfriend - Réne LaCombe; siblings - Lorraine Vertz, Karen (Mel) Beauchaine, Dorothy Masters, Betty (Bob) Durocher, Judy (Mike) Magazzi, and Darrel Adair; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; and cat - Nikki. He was preceded in death by his parents - Donald and Hilma; wife - Regina Adair; brothers - Ronald, Edward, and Sheldon Adair; and brothers-in-law - Ed Vertz and Bob Masters.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Denny's home on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. to spend time together and share memories of Denny. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Denny's name may be made to the Munising Public Library or the Alger County Animal Shelter.
