Dona D. Morin, age 78, of 1501 Nestor Street, Munising, died on Thursday, June 12, 2008 following a lengthy illness at the Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit. She was born in Munising on April 2, 1930 to Lloyd "Andy" and Elsie (Campbell) Doucette. Dona was raised in AuTrain and worked at Atlas Plywood for over six years. She married Paul "Pee Wee" Morin on August 1, 1959. Dona was a homemaker and she loved to dance. She and Pee Wee were past members of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
She is survived by her husband of over 48 years - Paul "Pee Wee" Morin at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette; brothers - Clyde "Trap" (Pam) Doucette of East Point, Michigan, Gary (Bev) Doucette of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and Darryl Doucette of Munising; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dona was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Sheldon "Beaver" and Neil "Nug" Doucette.
Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Parish Vigil Service and time for sharing will be held at 7:00 p.m. Deacon Tom Moseley will conduct Dona's funeral service in the funeral home's chapel on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising.
