Wetmore
Donald "Don" M. Prunick, age 74, of Wetmore, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Marquette General Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1939 in Munising, Michigan to Frank and Veda (Inman) Prunick. He graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1958. On June 3, 1961 Don married his high school sweetheart Janet M. Fulcher, and together they raised their three sons. He began his employment with Kimberly Clark in September of 1963 as a utility helper in the Labor Pool, moving to the Specialties Department as a utility helper progressing to rewinder operator, and finally to the Engineering Department as a Mason/Carpenter the position he held at the time of his retirement in December of 1998 after completing thirty-five years of service. In his younger years Don raced snowmobiles with "Chum's Bumbs", winning the Grand Island Race and the World Championship in Eagle River, WI. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rides in the woods, and working in the garden with Janet. She planted the flowers and he planted the vegetables and cared for the sunflowers planted by the chipmunks. Don loved his wife and family very much, and nothing made him happier than their Sunday Prunick get-togethers (especially if Tiger was playing well).
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years - Janet Prunick of Wetmore; sons - Rich (Heidi) Prunick of Munising, Greg (Julie) Prunick of Munising, and Mike (Tami) Prunick of Sheboygan, WI; mother - Veda Prunick of Munising; grandchildren - Richard (Chelsea), Ashley, Amber and Mason; great-granddaughter - Julia; brother - Tom (Harriet) Prunick; sisters-in-law - Clair Prunick and Bonnie Fulcher; and several nieces nephews and cousins.
