Munising

Donna Jean Beaudry, age 92, of Munising, died late Monday evening, December 9, 2024 at Medilodge in Munising. She was born in Big Rapids, Michigan on August 12, 1932 to John and Alice (Jordan) Hosier. She graduated from Amarillo High School and then studied at Jackson college. Donna married Donald “Pete” Beaudry and together they raised their two sons in the Livonia area. In 1971, they made the Upper Peninsula their home. Together, they owned and operated the Munising and Manistique Bushel Basket produce stores. Pete preceded Donna in death on March 26, 1978. Donna worked many years at the Alger County Chamber of Commerce. In the mid 1980’s, she moved to Reno, Nevada where she worked as a travel agent. Donna loved to travel the world, and visited the North and South Pole in the same year.  She returned to Munising and worked at the U.S. Forestry Service. Donna loved her pets, especially her Schnauzers – Sassy and Maizie. She enjoyed socializing with her friends, spending time with family, and being on the Lake.

Donna is survived by her granddaughter – Pamela Miller of Newport, Kentucky; great grandchildren – Kyle (Grace Vachon) Miller, Alyssa Miller, and Connor Miller; and special friends – Mary Sue and Mike Nolan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete, sons Pete on December 6, 2023 and John on September 25, 1975.

 No services are currently scheduled and interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Munising at a later date.
