Doreen “Dodie” (Nikunen) Rousseau, age 52, of Munising, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, January 7, 2017 in Munising.   She was born on March 7, 1964 in Marquette, Michigan to Donald Seymour and Linda Nikunen.  Dodie grew up in Munising and was a member of the Munising High School Class of 1983.  She married William Rousseau, Jr. in 1983 and together they raised their three beautiful daughters.  Dodie was kind and she enjoyed the time she briefly worked at the Superior Health Haven caring for the residents in need.   She was a homemaker that loved her family deeply and unconditionally.  Dodie was a great cook and a really good Mom.  She cherished her snuggle and hugs with her children and grandchildren.  Dodie had a wonderful sense of humor, she was a jokester, and had a great laugh.  She had a gentleness about her and a generous giving of herself.

She is survived by William Rousseau, Jr.; their children – Noel Rousseau, Veronica Rousseau, and Tori Rousseau all of Munising; grandchildren – Weston, Willie, Dayonia, Willow, and James, Jr.; her mother – Linda Seymour of Munising; siblings – Donna Seymour of Munising, Donald “Sonny” Seymour of Munising, Dion Seymour of Escanaba, and Vernon Seymour of Munising; parents-in-law – Bill and Judi Rousseau of Christmas; sister-in-law – Nikki (Bart) Stimac of Carmel, IN; nieces and nephews – Trisha, Kristie, Christopher, Katie, Robert, Dylan, Kayla, Ricky, Hope, Thomas, Jordan, Kassy, Vivian, William, Arryanna, Avery, Sahara, Samantha, and Cole.  Dodie was preceded in death by her father Donald Seymour, sister Brenda Seymour, and sister-in-law Stephanie Rousseau.

Services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Friday, January 13, 2017. Visiting time will be from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m.  Rev. David Lindeblad will conduct Dodie's funeral service at 3:00 p.m.
