Munising
Edward Isaac Davis, age 70, of County Road H-58, Munising, died Thursday morning, January 26, 2012 at his home following a lengthy illness. Ed was born in Manistique on November 7, 1941 to the late Leonard and Ada (Cole) Davis. He was raised in Germfask and attended school there. He graduated from Manistique High School and then worked in the woods as a logger and at sawmills. Ed married Constance "Connie" Pyrzewski on August 10, 1963. He went to work in May of 1969 for the D.N.R. at Cusino in Shingleton. When the Department of Corrections took over Cusino in 1981, Ed continued employment there and retired as Public Works Supervisor in 1998. He was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Church. He and Connie were married over forty-five years when she preceded him in death on November 2, 2008. Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved rabbit hunting with his beagles, but Ed had a real passion for deer hunting. He enjoyed deer camp at Poverty Knob for over twenty-four years and he ALWAYS bagged his buck before Eddie and Jeff. Hunters on M-28 can now expect the deer population to grow.
He is survived by his son - Eddie & Cathy Davis of Wetmore; daughter - Donna Jane & Tony Grahovac of Munising; stepson - Tony Cilc of Caseville, MI; grandchildren - Samantha, Jeff, Heather, Kurt, David, Craig, Danyel, Craig, Cori, and Carri; nine great-grandchildren; sisters - Donna Bryant of Pontiac and Maxine (John) Troyer of Engadine; brother and sister-in-law - Bill and Nancy Pyrzewski; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, wife Connie, sisters Helen (Roy) Putsey and Mabel (Fred) Lutes, brother Leonard (Dorothy) Davis, and brother-in-law Jerry Bryant.
