Edward John Rzanca, Sr., age 76, of Munising, Michigan born April 28, 1933, passed away peacefully at Marquette General Hospital on Friday, May 29, 2009 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Edward is survived by his wife of 47 years - Patricia (Couture) Rzanca; loving children - Cindy (Sam) Payne of Buchanen, MI, Cheryl (Don) Pelley of Buchanen, Mike Reiman of Munising, Darlene (Duane) Crawford of New York, Dolores Beckwith of Petosky, MI, Edward Rzanca, Jr. of Munising, Randy (Sandy) Rzanca of Niles, MI, Tom (Marilyn) Rzanca of Munising, and Tracy Stebelten of Texas; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers - August "Red" (Helen) Rzanca of Munising, Tom (Lorraine) Rzanca of Wales, MI, and Joe Rzanca of Paw Paw, MI; sisters - Julia Cemate of Paw Paw, Irene Miazzia, and Rosemary (Stan) Hanover of California; several nieces and nephews; and his great friend Gary Myjak who they resided with for 21 years. Ed was preceded in death by his parents - Kazimierz and Mary (Broda) Rzanca, brothers - Cash and Andy, sisters - Sarah, Stella and Agnes, and nephews Paul Monroe and Jake Rzanca. Edward was born in Munising, served in the U.S. Army, and spent all of his life here where he loved to fish and hunt. He loved his family and was very proud of everyone. He loved to sit in his recliner with his remote flipping through channels. He was the best father and grandfather ever.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home on Monday, June 1, 2009. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Ed's funeral service will be in the funeral home's chapel at 7:00 p.m.
