Munising
Eleanor "Ellie" L. Donnelly, age 76, of 1305 Lake Street, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at her home in Munising, under the care of her family and North Woods Home Hospice. She was born on August 12, 1936 in Los Angeles County, California to the late August and Mae Gollatz. Ellie graduated from Bell Gardens High School in 1954. She married John "Jack" Donnelly on June 2, 1956, and together they raised their four children. Ellie and Jack moved to Munising in 1987, and shortly after she began working at NAPA Auto Parts. Ellie was known for making her "Ellie's Jellies" that she would take to the North Trappers Convention craft show every year. She enjoyed gardening, picking berries (for her jelly), and taking her daily walks with her dog Dudley.
She is survived by her children - Murray (Kathi) Donnelly of Munising, Marina (Wayne) Gray of Port Huron, Meiklejohn (Sandy) Donnelly of Troy, MI, and Micki (Tim) Allamon of Shelby Twp., MI; grandchildren - David, Kathyann, Clinton, Kevin, Sara, Christopher, Alex, Kevin, Tim, Bryan, and Erica; twenty great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ellie was preceded in death by her parents - August and Mae; husband - Jack; and grandson - Alex Donnelly.
No public services will be held at this time. If anyone wishes to make a memorial contribution, they are asked to consider directing it to the North Woods Home Care and Hospice.
