E l s w o r t h " E l " H a r g e r , age 80, of E9466 Lehnen Road, Munising, died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, December 28, 2005 at his home. The weekend of July 28th through July 30th has been set aside to celebrate his life. The weekend's festivities will begin on Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Alger Centennial Arena (the corner of Varnum and Park Street - where El and Norma spent many years organizing the Pictured Rocks Road Race). The Arena doors will be open for visiting from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m. The Alger County Veterans Council and American Legion Honor Guard will conduct military honors at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 29th, the Arena will be open from 12:00 noon until 7:30 p.m. Weather permitting; the Relatively North Skydivers and Green Bay Skydivers will honor El by performing a freefall formation exposition - site and time to be announced. On Sunday, July 30th, coffee and breakfast time at the Falling Rock Café will be from 8:30 until 10:00 a.m. El's family reunion (where friends are also invited) will begin at 12:00 noon back at the arena.
