Munising
Estelle Anderson, age 93, of 215 E. Onota St., Munising entered eternal life on Sunday morning, May 12th, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital. Born September 23, 1919 in Munising, daughter of Joseph and Georgianna (Gosselin) Pelletier. Estelle was raised in Munising and was a 1936 graduate of Wm. G. Mather High School. Estelle married George M. (Utch) Anderson in 1940. Her husband preceded her in death. Estelle was employed at Kimberly-Clark Corporation in the Finishing Room. In 1961, Estelle graduated from the U.P. Beauty Academy and began her fifty-one year beautician career as owner of Cut & Curl Beauty Salon. Estelle was enthusiastic about taking good care of her customers and always had a smile and loving touch.
Estelle was an avid traveler and enjoyed many beautiful trips which included taking her children and grandchildren on a memorable cruise. The two most cherished things to her were her strong faith and her family. She was a caring woman who touched so many lives with her kind words and zest for life.
Estelle was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed cheering her grandchildren on in sporting events and attending school functions for her great grandchildren. She looked forward to family gatherings and loved cooking, baking and just being together. Her French "meat pies" were cherished by her family each and every Christmas Day. Estelle was passionate about her sports, never missing a Tiger game on TV. She attended numerous Piston games and also was present at the infamous "Ice Bowl" at Lambeau Field. Her warmth, compassion, and devotion, will be missed by many.
She was survived by her children; George (Penny) Anderson of Munising, Charles Anderson of Munising and Lynn (Larry) Passinault of Munising. Grandchildren; Ryan (Katie) Anderson of Munising, Brock (Krissy) Anderson of Munising, Amanda (Dan) Silva of DePere, Wisconsin and Neil (Allison) Passinault of Marquette. Great grandchildren; Ireland and Cooper Anderson, Sage Anderson and baby girl Silva, due in June. Brother Joe (Joanne) Pelletier, sisters Eileen St. Amour and Carole (James) LaMont all of Munising; and dear friend Dorothy Nebel. She was preceded in death by her husband George, parents, sisters Marie (Howard) Fromm and Dorothy Pelletier; and brother-in-law Henry St. Amour.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Bowerman Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Parish Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Estelle's funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Chris Gardiner on Wednesday, May 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Munising. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
