Ethelmae (Hartung) Bonevelle, age 83, of AuTrain, Michigan, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Norlite Nursing Center in Marquette. She had resided at Norlite since August and lived with her daughter in Marquette for the past fifteen years. Although Ethelmae was born and raised in Munising, her longtime residence and commitment to the community of AuTrain will always make AuTrain home. She was born on April 10, 1926 to the late David and Ethel (Holcomb) Hartung and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1944. Ethelmae married Clayton Bonevelle on April 27, 1946. They were married fifty years when Clayton preceded her in death on May 2, 1996. She worked at the Munising Woodenware and was a homemaker. Ethelmae was an active and faithful member of St. Therese Church in AuTrain. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was dedicated to her family. Ethelmae enjoyed watching the news, planting flowers, and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter - Linda Eiben of Marquette; son - Rick (Sheila Balko) Bonevelle of AuTrain; daughter-in-law - Mary Bonevelle Lopez of Munising; grandsons - Dennis (Janet) Gramm of AuTrain, Shane (Heather) Cromell and Josh (Missy) Cromell of Marquette, Jason (Kristy) Bonevelle, Derek Bonevelle, and Dylan Bonevelle all of Munising; granddaughter - Lindsey (Mike) Blalock of Redford; very special great-grandchildren - Jake, Cali, and Nate Cromell, Peyton, Ainsley, and Gianna Bonevelle, Braxton and Logan Blalock; step-great grandchildren - Jamie and Jessica Keeler, Mike, Heather and Ross Knickerbocker, and Ashley (Mike) Leonard; step-great-great grandchildren - Makenna Joy Leonard and Lander Knickerbocker; sister-in-law Marjorie Kroupa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ethelmae was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clayton; sons Rodney in 1995 and David in 1957; daughter-in-law Victoria; sisters Dorothy and Grace; and brothers Robert and John Henning.

Services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Therese Catholic Church in AuTrain. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Father Chris Gardiner will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 p.m. Memorials in memory of Ethelmae may be made to the AuTrain Veterans Memorial or St. Therese Church. Interment will be at the Serenity Pines Cemetery in AuTrain in the spring of 2010.
