Eva M. Gard, age 89, of 300 W. City Park Drive, Munising and formerly of Farmington Hills, Michigan died on Tuesday afternoon, October 8, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on September 18, 1924 in Detroit to the late Walter and Hannah (Mukala) Olsen. Eva moved to the Upper Peninsula in 2008 to be closer to her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law - Cheryl and Stanley Smith of Sixteen Mile Lake Road in Munising; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Debra Hotke, and two sisters Edith and Audrey.
No public services will be held.
