Eva Mae (Tweedale) Ruska

Chatham

Eva Mae Ruska, age 97, of Chatham, died on Wednesday morning, February 24, 2016 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising.   She was born on May 11, 1918 in Trout Lake, Michigan to James and Eva (Atherton) Tweedale.  Eva married Oscar Ruska and together they raised their ten children.  Eva enjoyed playing BINGO and playing cards with her friends.  She was a good cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Eva also enjoyed watching her boys play fast pitch softball and basketball.  She was a member at Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham.

She is survived by five children – Dorothy St. Pierre of Escanaba, Leroy (Karen) Ruska of Rock, Bruce (Mary) Ruska of Brandon, WI, Dale Ruska of Eben, and Duane Ruska of Harvey; daughter-in-law – Lynn Ruska; sons-in-law – Harvey Edminster and John Accomando; sister – Rose Bagroski of Traverse City; twenty grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oscar, five children – Ina Corradino, Mary Lou Edminster, Patricia Accomando, Deanna Ruska, and Brian Ruska, and many brothers and sisters.

Services will be held at the Sion Lutheran Church in Chatham on Saturday, February 27, 2016.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m until 12:00 p.m.   Pastor Paul Kelto will conduct Eva’s funeral service at 12:00 p.m.   Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
