Eva (Barrow Juranek) Sherman

Eva Marie (Barrow Juranek) Sherman, age 54, of Burton, Michigan and formerly of Munising, died on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 1:53 p.m. at the home of her parents in Shingleton under the loving care of her family and North Woods Hospice. Eva was born on June 29, 1956 in Manistique to James and Charlotte (Ruggles) Barrow, Sr. Her family moved to Royal Oak and she attended school there. Eva returned to the Munising area in 1979 and she and her first husband raised their children. On Thanksgiving Day 2000, Eva met Russ Sherman. They were married on August 9, 2003. Eva and Russ lived in Burton and during her treatments for colon cancer; she came home to be closer to the rest of her family. Eva enjoyed traveling, playing BINGO, and going to the casino. She loved being "Nana" to Bryce.

Eva is survived by her husband - Russ Sherman of Burton; children - Daniel Scott Barrow-Juranek of Munising, Deanna Evelyn Juranek of Munising and Darcie Marie Juranek of Munising; grandson - Bryce Salo; parents - Jim and Charlotte Barrow, Sr. of Shingleton; brothers - Jim (Kathy) Barrow of Munising, Steve Barrow, Sr. of Shingleton and Billy (Diane) Barrow of Clarkston; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Visitation will be held at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Munising on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Rev. Paul Varoni will conduct Eva's funeral service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel. A fellowship gathering will be held at the Community Center in Shingleton following Eva's funeral service. Interment will be at the Hiawatha Cemetery.
