Evelyn “Evie” Irene Barrow, age 83 of Munising, died on Monday, February 29, 2016 in Munising surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness. She was born on February 19, 1933 in Gulliver, Michigan to the late Linton and Helen (Tennison) Seaman. Evie went to school in Manistique and on October 17, 1950, she married Peter William Barrow. She was a homemaker and raised their four children. Evie was a member of the Munising Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and painting. Evie liked being able to make things the old fashion way, whether it was in her craft making or baking bread from scratch. She also loved living in the woods and animals, especially her dog Shadow.
Evie is survived by her daughters – Cara (Steve) Jalonen of VanMeer, Patti Barrow of Gwinn, Terri (Jeff) Merrick of Munising, and Marcia (Robert) Schels of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren – Joseph, Kory, Forest, Pheobe, Brandon, Brody, and Shelby; great-grandchildren – Khloe, Cooper, and Kalli; and brother – Butch Seaman. She was preceded in death by her husband - Peter William Barrow; parents – Linton and Helen; sisters Carol (Dan) Arrowwood, Julie (Millard) Edwards, and Ginger (Dwayne) Bailey and brothers - Rick and Ken Seaman.
A memorial service will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Connors Road in Munising, on Saturday March 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Evie’s obituary and guestbook may be viewed and signed at bowermanfuneralhome.net
