Christmas
Floyd “Foggy” Henry St. Amour, Jr., age 75, of Christmas, died Friday, January 21, 2022 at Medilodge of Munising. He was born on October 30, 1946 in Munising, Michigan to the late Floyd and Ethel (Baij) St. Amour, Sr. Foggy graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1964. After attending Northern Michigan University for two years, he moved to Flint, Michigan where he worked on the assembly line for Pontiac Motors. Foggy moved back to Munising and worked as a bartender for his uncle Hank at Hank’s Place and later on at Ziegert’s and also worked at Kimberly Clark. In 1982, Foggy and Judy went into business and created Foggy’s Bar in Christmas. Throughout the years, they added the kitchen and dining room to create what is now known as Foggy’s Steak House. Foggy had a great love for his business, family, friends, and customers that patronized the restaurant. He enjoyed the many visits and stories he would hear from those who stopped by and sharing a story or two of his own. In the good old days, Foggy enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles with his friend Gary Hart. As he got older, he enjoyed golfing, music, fishing with Keith Steinhoff, watching sports, and riding snowmobiles. He was active in the snowmobile clubs to help make sure the trails and groomers were up and running. One of Foggy’s favorite things to do was to be on his pontoon on Lake Superior. He looked forward to the first trip out as soon as the ice left, hot summer days in Murray Bay, and many sunset cruises with friends and family. Foggy enjoyed traveling all over, but one of his favorite places was Jamaica. He liked going anywhere the weather was hot and they had good food. Foggy greatest love was his children and grandchildren, he was so very proud of what they have become.
Foggy is survived by his sons – Shaun (Cori) St. Amour and Chad (Erica) St. Amour of Christmas; grandchildren – Bailey, Morgan, Mason, Roczen, and Katelyn St. Amour; sister – Karen (Ron) St. Amour of Arizona; brother – Wayne “Sach” (Gail) St. Amour of Munising; ex-wife – Judy (Gatiss) St. Amour; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, and employees. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Ethel and son Jason St. Amour.
