Munising
Frances "Tui" Beaudette, age 79, of Munising, died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. She was born in Munising, on January 1, 1936 to the late Charles and Mary (Tyner) Beaudette. Tui attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Wm. G. Mather High School in 1954. She attended Northern Michigan for one year, and then lived in Milwaukee for a short time before returning home to work at Kimberly Clark. Tui was employed there for over thirty five years, when she retired in 1994. Tui enjoyed traveling, and found Panama City Beach, Florida to be her favorite vacation spot, and after retirement then wintered there. She loved her new cars, snowmobiling, and was a staunch Lions fan. Tui was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church, and a longtime member of Pictured Rocks Golf and Country Club, where she loved golfing, playing in leagues, socializing, and playing cards. Even when her health would no longer let her play, Tui would go to the course to ride along in a cart with her friends.
She is survived by her sisters - Elizabeth "Betty" Smith and Helen Anderson both of Munising; six nieces who looked at Tui as a big sister - Connie (Rick) Edger, Donna Lasak, Bonnie Wilke, Chris (Steve) Trombly, Jan Anderson, and Kathy (Matekel) Lavalley; and Tui held the title of Great Aunt to an additional three more generations. She was preceded in death by her parents - Charles and Mary; sister - Doris (Frank) Matekel; infant brother - Joseph Charles Beaudette; brothers-in-law - Alard Anderson and Charles Smith; nephew-in-law - Jerry Lasak; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial mass will be celebrated by Father Chris Gardiner on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Munising. Interment will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
