Traunik
Frances S. Brisson, age 92, of Waukegan, Illinois and formerly of Traunik, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 6, 2015 at her home. She was born on February 16, 1923 in Forest Lake to Joseph and Johana (Mikulich) Shega. Frances grew up in Traunik and graduated from Eben High School. She moved to the Chicago area and worked there until her mother became ill. Frances returned to Traunik to help care for her mom. It was during that time that she met James Brisson. They were married on July 7, 1956 at St. Rita Church in Trenary. Frances and James moved back to Waukegan and she worked at Abbott Laboratories. Frances retired from Abbott after forty-one years of service on April 30, 1987. She was a longtime member of St. Anastasia Church in Waukegan and a former member of St. Rita in Trenary. Frances enjoyed gardening and caring for her house plants. She was especially fond of roses and African Violets. She and Jim were married over fifty-one years when he preceded her in death in 2008.
Frances is survived by three sisters - Christine Hawley, Ann Quarfoot, and Josephine (Robert) Ripperger; brother - Joseph (Vicky) Shega; sisters-in-law - Edyth Brisson, Joanne Brisson, and Eleanor Brisson; brother-in-law - Willard Williamson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Johana Shega and sisters, Amelia Eliasen, Antonia Gunderson, and Margaret Filkas.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Waukegan. Committal services will be held at the Mathias Township Cemetery in Trenary on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. with Father Jacek Wytklo officiating.
