Frank J. Wieczorek, age 63, of Munising, died unexpectedly, due to heart complications on Thursday, September 7, 2017 in Ishpeming.  He was born on August 8, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan.  Frank enlisted into the United States Army in 1972.  He was stationed in Italy where he was an auto-mechanic and fork lift operator.  Frank was honorably discharged in 1974 and was awarded National Defense Service Medal and Expert M-16.  He married Dianne Kay Louk and together they raised their four children on 16 Mile Lake Road.  The family moved to Munising in 1985 and Frank worked as the Director of Engineering at Munising Memorial Hospital, before starting his own business, “Frank’s Place”.  Frank’s automotive and diesel mechanic shop serviced many business fleets and family vehicles across Alger County.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, panning for gold, metal detection, camping, hiking, and was a proud member of the American Legion.  In the past six years, Frank had become very health conscious, and enjoyed working out four to seven days a week.  He seemed happiest when he was engaging in outdoor activities with his kids and granddaughter.

Frank was survived by his children – Jason of Marquette, Andrew of Munising, Adam of Green Bay, and Amber Wieczorek of New Port Richey, FL; their mother Dianne Wieczorek; granddaughter – Serena; mother – Helen Kaminski; siblings – Ted Gagacki, Donna (Johnny) Warren, Gloria (Greg) Komor, Stan (Abby) Wieczorek, Barbara (Tom) Crane, Paula (Dan) Davenport, Joe and Anna Kaminski; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Munising from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m.  Frank’s funeral will be conducted by Deacon John Weber at 2:00 p.m.
