Fredrick "Fred" John Schramm

Fredrick John "Fred" Schramm, age 82, of Maple Grove Rd., Munising died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Tendercare Health Center in Munising. He was born on March 31, 1928 in Fond du Lac, WI to Fredrick and Agnes (Berry) Schramm. Fred graduated from St. Lawrence College Seminary. He taught high school English at Mercy High School in Milwaukee, and then at Winter Haven High School in Florida. Fred retired from Florida and moved to the U.P., where he enjoyed living by himself in the woods. He was active in the Lions Club of Florida, and worked with the Literacy Council for several years in Munising. He loved music, reading, hunting, fishing, and cheering for the Cubs.
Fred is survived by his daughter - Karen (Troy) Scroggins of Fort Wayne, IN; three grandsons - Cole, Gray, and Mason; brother Chuck (Lenore) Schramm of Munising; nieces and nephews - Tom (Lisa) Schramm of Munising, Charlene (Bill) Gariepy of Macomb Twp., Nancy (Michael) Amicangelo of Iron Mountain, Gary (Jen) of Waupun, WI, and Lori (Scott) Balko of Marquette; great nieces and nephews - Courtney, Jacob, McKensey, Joel, Jillian, Blair, Madison, and Evan; uncle - Chuck Schramm of Fond du Lac, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Agnes.
A commital service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
